1 Farewell Hungary

> Whelp, here it is: The Final Email.
> It's been a good week. Saying all the goodbyes was terrible, but I made it through. Now I just have to say goodbye to one member and a bunch of missionaries and I'll be set!
> This week we had splits with the sisters from Szolnok. It was good. Then the next day we celebrated Sister Simons' birthday. Saturday was Sára's baptism. She's not even my investigator and I totally started crying. But then I was tear-free on Sunday. After church they had a big potluck lunch. It was perfect because I got to eat my last rakott krumpli and take pictures with a bunch of people.
> Yesterday was the worst. I said goodbye to Domonkos Zsuzsa, Tábori Zsuzsa, and András. I will miss them so much. I also got a really sweet letter and chocolate bar from Kíra, the former Sister Kovács. I was so touched and also so sad to leave. I will miss her so much.
> Tonight we are having zsíros kenyér (bread with fat) with Barnabás because I've never tried it before and then I will say goodbye to him too. So sad. This morning we went and saw some cool Roman ruins. Hopefully I can do one or two more things before I go. We supposedly have some time tomorrow. I have to have my luggage in by noon, and then I will have an interview in the afternoon, and then we have to be back by five for them to do some sort of departing ceremony. We (the sisters) will be staying in a hotel and then getting up at 3 to leave.
> I've loved my mission, every bit. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but I am ready to go home. I'll always be grateful for the opportunity to serve a mission. Hungary is a part of me now. I'll always miss it.
> I know that Christ lives and that because of His Atonement we can be happy. I have witnessed many people changing their lives with His help. It is amazing. It is a miracle.

      This week was good but kind of hard. It's a lot harder to end your mission than I thought it would be and I've had a few good cries so far. Highlights from the week include splitting with the Pécs sisters. Also, attending a baptism for one of the elders' investigators. It was the first young girl in a while and it was neat. Her name is Kitti and we know her from activities and stuff so we were really happy for her.
      And another girl is getting baptized this week! Her name is Sára and we adore her. Jozsi came to church and once again had a great time. We went and visited an inactive lady named Györgyi that lives near us earlier this week and we had a good visit. She said she just has a hard time getting to church these days because she's lazy. So we told her that we would come with her and she perked right up and agreed. And she came! It was fun.
      Csaba also came (he's getting more active than many members) and stayed for almost the whole time even though he was planning on just coming for 1 hour. He actually told us he was leaving and then a few minutes after Sunday School started he came back in and was all proud of himself. Sister Simons asked him what changed his mind and he said, "Well, I want God to help me so I am staying longer." Haha so adorable. We were so proud of him because we have been trying to get it into his head that if you want blessings you have to keep commandments. He is like a little kid so it was super cute that he was willing to stay. He wants God to help him pay his tuition, and maybe God will, or maybe He will bless him a different way. We'll see.

      Sister Smith (the mission president's wife) took us to lunch this week and then we took her to go find an inactive guy and his family. His wife and kids were home and they let us in and we had a lovely visit. He showed up right as we were sharing a scripture and so we were able to meet him too. It was cool and the sisters are going back the day I leave.

      Earlier this month on Fast Sunday I didn't get the chance to bear my testimony for the last time and I have kind of been a little bummed about it ever since but on Sunday a member of the bishopbric came up to me and said, "Hey, we heard you are going home. If you want you can have three minutes to bear your testimony." There is an elder going home a week before I am and I'm pretty sure he got them to let us bear our testimonies. So it was a big tender mercy for me to speak to them all one last time. I felt like I was giving my last words to the entire Hungarian people. Now everyone thinks I am going home this week instead of next week though haha. They will all have a little shock when I am still here on Sunday.

      Yesterday we went to the bishop's house for dinner and it was really fun. He and his family are so great.
