Hermana Naegle: yogurt and beans....December 15th

Today we went to the store to buy what we generally eat in the week which turns out to be a lot of yogurt and beans...... not together of course because that would be gross.  I got Word that another one of my investigators from my old área in Valdepeñas got baptized! I'm so happy! it was a miracle because her parents are really opposed to the church. Her older brother got baptized almost a year ago and he's been doing all he can to help her get baptized. We started teaching her a few weeks before I got transferred and she got baptized as fast as she could. Now they tell me that she goes out with the sisters all the time and is wanting to go to seminary and the temple.

This week Jenny couldn't come because she went with her mom, and Alexis didn't show :( We're going to have to talk with her again... ugh. She doesn't want us to stop visiting with her but she just doesn't come to church! so frustrating! And I don't want to baptized her if she's just gonna go inactive.

Angelica came to church (she's a less active member and a recent convert) she's doing better but we're still not sure if she's given up coffee completely.

WE found a new investigator. Actually she's an old investigator. She's been taught for a long time and knows a lot but apparently she has doubts about certain things; we'll see what happens. Also she smokes and I think its  a lot. but we can't meet with her until after Christmas (her name is Lourdes Araceli) because she helps her mom sell Christmas trees all day.

Well I just love you all so much! I miss you but I'm happy being a missionary. Its truly a beautiful work and  a privilege. Because if God wanted to He could do his missionary work without us but how nice of Him to let us help out and learn some things.

OH I ALMOST FORGOT! Elder Nelson came and spoke to us on Saturday! It was awesome. When he walked into the room you could just feel the Spirit walk in with him. He just turned 90 years old but he doesn't look it; he's rather spry. He spoke so lovingly and then he left us a beautiful apostolic blessing. I have such a testimony of his divine calling. How wonderful of the Lord to send us prophets and apostles in our days to bless us and to help us out. I love this church, how can it not be true?

Anyways have a marvelous week! Oh and family I will be calling you through skype on Christmas at 5:00 Mexico Guadalajara time I don't know what time it will be over where you guys are so you'll have to figure that out. :) love you!

Naegle Nover: FAST....December 15th

This past week went by really fast. One of the cool things that happened was that we were trying to contact an inactive member that we meet with to tell her that we couldn't meet at the time we had planned because we had to travel into Budapest for a training. We rang the doorbell but no one answered. While we were fishing in our bags for some paper to leave a note, she walked up and was not only really friendly, but let us in and we had a lesson. It was really good! She and her daughter are coming to the branch Christmas party and I am really looking forward to it because I think it will help her come to church. Another less-active member named Laci has a non-member wife named Éva and a son named Dani. Sister Viernes started giving Dani piano lessons this week, and we asked Laci if we could start meeting with them after the piano lessons each week. He agreed and we hope the piano lessons will soften his wife's heart a little bit to help her be more open to the gospel. We went to English club again and had a great time. I spent a lot of time talking to a British man who is working on a solar-powered engine. It wsa cool. We are going to start meeting with the woman who started the English club. She is really cool and we are so excited. The English club people adore us and invited us to their New Year's Eve party. We'll have to see what happens because that day is actually another transfer. Wednesday was a crazy day because we had to squeeze a lot into a little bit of time. We were supposed to meet with Hilda, but she didn't come. I don't know why. When I talked to her on the phone she told me that she had read the Book of Mormon, and I think she still wants to meet just something happened. Erika, the mom with three kids, was home when we showed up and we were able to teach her and her kids part of the Plan of Salvation. I asked her why she was meeting with us and she said that she knew that if we met we would talk about God and if we didn't meet, maybe that would stay out of their lives. Translation: she felt the spirit four years ago when she met with missionaries and she misses it. She had all sorts of questions including why the Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, and what our opinions were on whether or not children should see their parents argue. It was an interesting lesson and I hope it made a difference. I think it did because she said we could come back and we set a time for after Christmas since they are really busy. It is SO cool that we get to meet with them. SO COOL!!! We were so nervous about that lesson that we hiked out to where they live multiple times to make sure we knew how to get there. Her husband didn't end up getting home from work in time but that could actually be a blessing in disguise because maybe he wouldn't have wanted us to come back. We tried visiting the ubrella lady but she just had surgery on her eye so it wasn't a good time. We met with Érzsébet and Irénke and it was pretty good. Thursday we traveled to Budapest and slept over at the mission home with the two other sister companionships that have new missionaries. It was really fun because Sister Kovács is training too and so I got to see her. The next day was a training for the new sisters and some free hours for us. We went over to one of the big bridges and took a bunch of pictures, saw the Christmas market, and went to the Nagy Piac which is a multi-story market with tons of vendors that are really geared towards tourists. It was fun. I didn't get to go to the baptism in Debrecen after all because it was too late in the evening for us to get back in time. I was pretty bummed but we went to teach Enikő instead and that was really great. She prayed about a baptismal date but is getting the answer that she needs to strengthen herself first before she gets baptized. It is really hard with work because she provides for her family and she has to work on Sundays a lot. She is amazing though and I am so grateful and humbled that I get to teach her. Yesterday the Vierneses invited us over for lunch and language study and it was so fun. I am so grateful for the senior couples here. They are all amazing!!  After sudying we went out and tried to contact some people that live by them without any success and then we started introducing them to the neighbors. Their next door neighbors are the cutest family with one little duaghter and it was cool to meet them. Sister Viernes was able to give them a Book of Mormon and they accepted it really graciously. In other notes, we met a woman on the train that is a soldier in reconnaissance. She was cool and we gave her an English flyer for Pest since that's where she lives. We checked up on Aniko. She's good but we won't be able to meet with her until after the holdiays. As far as I know the baptism went well and Laci is doing well. Apparently he showed up to church in a suit and bore his testimony after he was confirmed and everyone just loves him.

Hermana Naegle: Jenny came to church!!!!!!!!! So did Alexis!!!!!! miracle!!

This week was awesome! just so great! We laid down the law with Jenny and Alexis. We told Jenny that since she wasn't progressing we were pretty much going to stop visiting her and she came to church! also when we visited with her she showed us what she had read in teh book of mormon and what she had like and she had actually colored over it Little swirls and butterflies or something. It was awesome because she's trying to actually pay attention to what she's Reading.

Alexis loves that we visit with her, I think she feels like we really carea bout her because she's opened up a lot more but she just wasn't coming to church, so we told her that if she didn't come to church that week we were going to drop her. We told it A LOT nicer than that but very firmly and she CAME! so our prayers payed off! and instead of just the one progressing investigator we wanted God lovingly gave us two! also he gave us an awesome friday where we were able to meet ALL of our goals and even go up a few. Cool experience. Samuel Gutiérrez, a member, spent the whole day with us on friday and he had the idea to pray for something specific so we prayed that as we were walking towards the house of the Quezada family that we would meet a couple who we could set up an appointment with and pray with them. Well we went to the quezada house and they couldn't receive us and we sat down on a bench thingy (it wasn't really a bench I just am not sure how to describe it...)  and a couple walked by but we didn't see them until it was too late! so then I felt bad because I had promised in my head to God that I would contact every couple a saw and then I didn't even contact the first one ;( so we continued walking and another couple walked by and I just excitedly contacted them and they were kind of in a hurry but that didn't matter because we were trying to share the gospel with them, and we ended up praying with them and setting up an appointment and so we're going to see what happens and I'm really excited! because God answered our very specific prayer! And He even gave us a second chance!

I love this góspel. It is so true! we watched the restoration video the hour long one and I almost bawled at the end because of all the things that Joseph and those great pioneers did for us. They gave up EVERYTHING for us, literally everything. I am so grateful for what they have done and when I think about the people who come to know the truth and then give it up, or turn their backs on it because of silly excuses, when these men gave up everything they had to establish it, I just can't help but think how incredibly selfish of them. This góspel isn't about living easy lives or about getting rich quick, its about enduring to the End. Alot of people forget that that's one of the first five principles of the góspel. Do we not read  in 2 Nephi 31:19-21:

19 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith‍ in him, relying‍ wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
 20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness‍ in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love‍ of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure‍ to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.
 21 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this is the way; and there is none‍ other way nor name‍ given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine‍ of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen.

We need to realize that our actions right now affect EVERYONE around us. Especially the people that we love most. If we give up this great góspel what example are we setting for our children? or our future children? do we not love them? don't we not want the best for them? then we must be willing to sacrifice the alright things for the better things. We gotta give up the telestial and terestial kingdom for the Celestial. Yeah the people who end up there will be haoppy sure but they will not expereice the fruit ´´which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, yea, and pure above all that is pure´´ (alma 32:42). I want you all to think right now what kind of fruit you want for your children and if you want to partake of it with them.
Those who have a knowledge of this góspel have a lot more responsability to stick to it than the people who don't know about it. The people who don't know about it are only transgressing, the people who do know it but choose to ignore it are sinning and thats alot worse because we won't be automaticaly saved from that throught the Atonement of Christ, we have to Repent. SO since I love you and because I'm a missionary and its may calling to call people to come unto Christ through Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End I'm going to call to ALL of  you who read this letter to repentance.
what part of the góspel are you ignoring? what commandmant are you not living? Tithing? Sabbath Day? Modesty? Honor you father and you Mother? Don't lie? Word of Wisdom? Law of Chasity?

I love you all, when I think about you each one of you I feel such a desire to help you! I want you to understand the sweetness that this góspel brings! I want you to feel what I feel! I want you to know what I know! I want you to live in the way that Christ taught us to becasue its only in that way that we can be happy. Are you happy? or is it just a pleasure that ends? is what your searching after going to last into the eternities? will it lift you up at the last day in happiness? or will you be shamed and embarrased to see the Lord. I guarantee you that it He will not be ashamed,  niether will the prophets who declared it to you, this is the time of our probation, this is the time that we have for repentance. this isn't a second chance góspel, we don't get another earth experience. Please live this one to the fulllest and BEST way! (if your not quite sure what that best way is I'll make it very clear THE GOSPEL!)

anywyas I could go on and on forever but I won't. just think about it, pray about it, even if you don't feel worthy to pray. Read the Book of Mormon and pray. Repentance isn't easy, it hurts, I know. but the joy that comes after is so beatufil (alma 36). So search after it. Please.

Naegle nover: the lights are up

They finally turned on all the Christmas lights in the town square. The Christmas tree looks so pretty and lately there has been live music and lots of people all walking around buying treats and things from vendors in the evening after it gets dark. It is all very festive.

This week we taught a lady named Érzsébet and her aged mother, Irénka. It was our first lesson and when we showed up the mother let us in and I didn't know that she was living there so I was a little worried for a while that we had gone to the wrong apartment and a senile lady had let us in. She acted perfectly normal and just chattered at us like she had been expecting us but she didn't look like the lady I had met on the bus. She told us all about her youth and kept patting me on the leg with her four-fingered hand..Fortunately Érzsébet showed up after a little bit and we were able to teach. 

We also taught a girl named Zsofi who is eleven I think and her grandma is the Relief Society president and one of the rocks of the branch. We taught the 10 commandments and it was really fun. I love to teach it through the Abinadi story. Abinadi was an amazing man.

At our English class a woman named Judith who I have known for a while now and have been hoping to meet with came up and asked if she could meet with us individually to practice English. I told her that we usually do half an hour English and half and hour talking about God and our church and she said great! So we had a lesson with her later this week and it was good. She is soo cool and we really love her. She went to high school in America because her dad was an ambassador or something and she showed us her yearbook a few weeks ago.

Then after English class, we taught a lesson for anyone who would stay and we focused it on Christmas and used the Joy to the World video. Afterwards we approached a girl that stayed because we hadn't met her before and we asked her if she had a Book of Mormon (we had just talked about it in the lesson). She said she didn't, but she wasn't sure if she was worth giving one too. It was pretty cool because another student who met 4 years or so ago with the missionaries but isn't really interested in the church or so he says piped up immediately and said of course she was, everybody is worthy of having a Book of Mormon. Obviously we gave her one anyway and talked with her a little bit. Sis Nybo was smart and gave her a hug right before she went away and I think it meant a lot to her. She has a hard time with Christmas we found out later when she came to our Saturday class that her father passed away and that's why. She says she will meet with us when she feels ready and so we are just going to keep working with her and trying to help her until then. She is so cute and we love her.   

We set up with Erika, a super cool young mom we streeted, to meet with her family on Wednesday. PLEASE pray for her and her husband Laci (Law-tsee) and for us that we can have a really successful first meeting with them. It will be a little stressful because we had to squeeze it in between two other appointments and we have to get over to their house in time and then we only have a half hour. So please pray because they have 3 kids and seem really amazing. 

Another investigator I talked to on the phone today said that she read!! Woo hoo! Her name is Hilda and she's the one who's sibling died. 

László and his son came to church yesterday and the new senior couple offered to teach his son piano and they accepted. I am really excited because I think it might help his wife Éva get interested. 

Tuesday we went to an English speakers club where this club just meets to practice speaking English and a member invited us. We pretty much were able to talk the whole time and ask them questions and they asked us lots of questions. It was really fun and we hope to find some cool people to teach from it. 

Also we returned the umbrella to the lady who gave it to us and we gave her a Book of Mormon. She said we could come back so we will hopefully see her this week. 

Also, I got a phone call from the sister that took my place in Debrecen. Apparently a guy that Sis Williamson and I found and started teaching right before I left is getting baptized! So for the first time someone that I have taught is getting baptized!! I teared up a little when she told me. We are going to try to go to his baptism. His name is Laci and it's really a miracle because he has progressed so fast. I remember telling Sister Williamson before I left that I thought he would be one of their solid investigators but I never expected him to make changes so fast! I am really happy for him.

As a final random note, yesterday we were talking with a member when we heard a big ruckus and we looked out on the street and saw a big parade of maybe a hundred motorcycles and almost all of the riders were dressed as Santa. It was crazy! And it made us laugh.

Hermana Naegle: Root Beer floats!

So this week doesn't have much to report except that we celebrated Thanksgiving eating root beer floats (or do you drink those?) WE dressed up like indians and had a lesson about gratitude with Axel and Rox (who we dressed up as pilgrims.). It was fun.

Today we made Mole. Its a very traditional mexican sauce. Its really good and flavorful. Usually they eat it with chicken but we decided to put it over Little bean burritos that we fried. It was really good and really mexican. We're turning into experts about Mexican food! (not really.)

we're really sad because we are going to drop Jenny and Alexis. Its just because they don't come to church. WE have tried and tried and tried and prayed and prayed and pleaded and pleaded but nothing. We just can't do anymore. So we are going to tell them that since they aren't coming to church that we are going to just drop them. Of course we'll do it a lot nicer and with love, but with firmness and seriousness. i'm sad because they really are great people.

Yesterday night a random dude named Néstor told me that I look like a mennonite. I didn't even know what those are but apparently they are people who sell cheese. Therefore I have the face of someone who sells cheese. Maybe I'll go into cheese selling when I get back. Cheese selling in spanish! it'll be big! I'll make hundreds! hahaha.

Anyways I can't remember anything else from the week EXCEPT this awesome video that you ALL must see. Its called '' He is the Gift'' its on YouTube. The church has reserved the plantalla (I'm not sure if this word is spanish or english) of YouTube  to only show this video for the whole months of december. Naegle Nover: the week

This week was a good one. Tuesday I had to leave emailing early because we met with a lady whom Sister Cox had stopped on the street. She, to my surprise, actually showed up and we had a really great lesson with her. She really struggles with understanding why her sibling's life was taken and she even started crying and said she's never felt so much calm and peace as she did just being with us in our branch house. She said she doesn't feel that when she goes to other churches.

That night we met with a family where the dad is a recent convert but not active and the mom is a non-member. We taught them about the ten commandments and emphasized keeping the Sabbath day holy, and he said he would come to church but he didn't. 

We had a great lesson with Enikő and she said that she knew the Book of Mormon was true and that she and her mom and brother are planning on being baptized but they are still thinking about the date. Something is holding her back but I am not sure what it is. It may actually be her family. She is ready but I don't know if they are quite yet. Then she didn't come to church so I am worried about her. 

Aniko either wasn't there or didn't let us in when we showed up. It was sad. 

On Wednesday I received my new companion Sister Nybo. I love her!! I LOVE training. It is really fun to show someone the ropes and watch them experience everything for the first time. She is great and we have a really fun time together. 

When we went grocery shopping I saw sweet potatoes which I have never noticed here before so we shared a sweet potato on Thursday in honor of Thanksgiving.

Yesterday we went tracting in a 14-story apartment building. At one of the doors where Sister Nybo did the door approach, we found a guy who had actually found a Book of Mormon in his apartment and was willing to meet with us later this week to talk more about it and practice English. He seems really cool and I really hope he shows up. If not, I guess we know where he lives. 

One of the members here is super cool and getting ready to go on a mission. Her name is Heni and I love her. She has helped me a ton. She just turned in her papers so we are all waiting with excitement to hear where she goes. She had us over for lunch and fed us paprikás krumpli, which is delicious. 

Another member had us and the elders over for dinner and gave us a ton of food. I have never had so much food from members before in one week! She also gave us little gift bags. It was so generous and sweet of her.

Hermana Naegle: Transfers!

So we did not have transfers! I am SO happy! this means that sister Warburton and I will celebrate thanksgiving, thirteen months, christmas, and new years together! and we celebrated one year the past transfer. SO many things to celebrate. We are planning on having root beer floats with Axel and Rox for thanksgiving since its hard to find good pie here.... Oh hey mom could you still send me those récipes? there are a few members who keep asking me for them. Thanks!

Well our recent converts came to church and stayed for all of it! Angelica came and it was the first time she had come since I had gotten here. Axel and Rox came and it was SO good to see them! they're doing good. We explained to them that there is only one church and that they can't pray to the saints of the catholic church, it was hard especially for Axel because it was his whole childhood and he told us that he felt really confused about all of it, but they are praying to know if the book of mormon is true and as they continue to do that they will become stronger and stronger.

We are really excited for this transfer. We're hoping that Josue will get baptised. he had a pretty big accident on his motorcycle and his face is all scratched up and swollen and he was in a coma for an hour but we are hoping that things progress now. He's a really good friend of the Placencia family and they really want to help us out with him. So he's already got friends in the Ward :)

We haven't been able to get our investigators to church lately but we hoping on this sunday that it will all work out. That we'll at least get Jenny and Josue and hopefully Efren (he's a new investigator we met last week. he's promising we'll see what happens.) and maybe Ivon, (she's also new) and hopefully other future investigators, Maybe monolo will show up again.

Well thank you all for your prayers and support. I really appreciate it. I'm so grateful to know all of you, for all of your support and love that yo have shown me. I want you to know that I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. O know that its the Word of GOd that its here for us to grow closer to Him, its here to be read, its here to be studied. Its not a pretty decoration for the book shelf or the table in the family room. We need to get to know it, we need to read it to understand what our Heavenly Father wants for us. There are a lot of things coming in the future and we need to be prepared, we need to prepare our children, maybe these things won't all happen in our lives but in the lives of our children or grandchildren it will and we need to do our part in strengthening them and helping them grow closer to Christ by setting the example

Well keep Reading and studying! keep praying and following the voice of the spirit. If you feel lost you can find rest in the words of the prophets both ancient and living. if you feel like your trials are to much remember the trials that christ had and then look at your trials as an honor because you get to walk side by side with Him. Then be humbled to know that you'll NEVER has to experience something like He did (unless of course you don't repent D & C 19:15-20) and that He's willing to help you out and to lighten the burden so that you can hardly feel it upon your backs (mosiah 24:14-15).

Naegle Nover: Cool Experiences...literally.

It was totally freezing this week and I was very grateful for my warm coat. I may look like a Jehova's Witness but I am warm and alive. We did some tracting this week and had some interesting experiences. Sunday night we went on splits with some members and Dóra and I were tracting along in the evening (by the way it starts getting dark at about 3:30 and as soon as it gets dark the Hungarians sometimes get really upset if you ring the doorbell) around 7:00 or so. We got a phone number from one guy and then had no success until one man came out to the gate on the phone. It turned out that he was on the phone with his 80-something-year-old mother who was railing on the phone out of grief since they had just found out that her daughter (the man's younger sister) had been murdered and left behind two children. The man himself was in a rage and at first wouldn't even let us speak because he kept going off about how he doesn't believe in God anymore since God wouldn't let something like this happen. We didn't really know what to do but just kept trying to get a word in here or there and all the while the mother kept yelling over the phone, he even had Dóra speak with his mother on the phone. After a bit he calmed down and apologized and almost sent us away several times saying that there was no point etc. etc. and wouldn't even take our card but finally he said that he did believe in God but that he wished He would give him a sign to let him know what to do. We promptly told him that we were the sign from God and explained how he could find hope and peace and he started weeping and kept grabbing our hands and said he hoped we could help. We gave him a Book of Mormon and a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and a card and he said he wanted to meet sometime in December. So hopefully he will let us in when we go back. It was definitely a crazy experience, especially since I had really prayed to know where to go and when I saw that street I felt good and decided to tract there. We kept going after that but infortunately of the two people that answered one was "cooking" and the other swore at us so badly that when I recorded it in my record I used a lot of little stars. My mouth actually fell open when he said it.

Anyway, our investigator Enikő is doing fabulously. She came to church and she just looked so good. She will get baptized for sure, it's just a matter of time. We also met with Aniko again and she had read so she is progressing!! We had five people in church which was super cool. Dóra spok in church so her mom came and we got to meet her. Dóra's inactive cousin came with her boyfriend and we had the cousin of a member who's dad won't let her get baptized as well as another member's son who we are trying to start teach. So there is a lot of potential to work with.
I just got a phone call from a lady we met on the street saying she is actually going to come to our program in half an hour so I have to run but my final news is that we got transfer calls and I will be training this next transfer. I am a little nervous but I think it will be fine. I hope I can be a good trainer!!

Hermana Naegle: We moved!

Today was really long! first we had to go all the way out to the offices which are like and hour and a half away and we had to be there at like 9 o'clock because we had to sign some papers. Then afterwards we had to rush back home, (its really hard to rush when you have to take the bus...) because we had to move all our stuff into the apartment below. Unfortunately when we got back home we checked the cell phone and we had four missed calls from the secretaries telling us that they forgot to give us some other papers we had to sign. We didn't answer our phone because I accidently left it in the house. But we have finished moving and the good news is that we have a washer! the owner of the apartment really trusts us and decided to let us use her washing machine. Its awesome! and we also have an oven,  a very very rare feature in mexico. A lot of housewives are scared of the oven and just use them as another cupboard.

This week our recent converts Axel and Rox came to church! we were so happy! because they hadn't come for like three weeks and we were getting really worried. and we didn't know what to do and then we were talking with them one day and it all came out. they were just feeling a of pressure about all the responsibilities and the members were being a Little bit hypocritical (I'm not sure if that actually an english Word or if I made it up but I think you get the idea.) and they were also trying to have 2 religions (mormonism and catholicism) Anyways we explained it all out and now they are going to do a lot of praying. But they came to church!!!!! yay we were super happy to see them.

The rough part was that our two most promising investigators didn't show up! and they both promised! Alexis told us an hour before church started that she was going to come but then didn't show or nor did she tell us why. We are going to have a very stern, but loving, conversation with her this week. And Jenny, who knows why she didn't show. maybe she went out to her moms house and couldn't.... I'm hoping the best. But they both need to come to church! its the most important part of their progress.

We also had our zone conference on wednesday. It was really good. Our mission president told us that in like january or sometime they're going to come out with a lesson 6! which will deal with being autosuficient. (again I'm not sure if thats a Word in english... in spanish its ''autosuficiente'') . anyways we all really excited. And he talked ALOT about the second coming and told us that we need to read and study all the prophecies because we are going to be living them. which made all the missionaries afterwards to start chatting and talking about all the prophecies. the truth is that it really is close. I don't know if it will be in my life but its possible. The only thing we can do is just obey the commandments and listen to the prophets voice so that we are prepared for whatever happens. The righteous will have no reason to fear.  

We had a cool stake missionary activity this week. They were all blindfolded and had to follow a rope and listen to good/bad voices to try and make it to the tree of life. It was fun and the members really liked it. I wish we could take the credit for planning it but the stake did all of it and the missionaries just had to show up :)

Naegle Nover: short

Well this week was pretty discouraging as far as the work goes. I went back through my old planners and I am pretty sure it was actually the worst. And that's saying something. But it had its good moments. One night we prayed really hard to know where to go and felt like we should go try a few people from our records. We didn't have any success with them, but on our way back I streeted a lady pushing a stroller and walking a dog. Usually people of this type never stop and listen since they are busy but she did and I asked her if she believed in God, which I don't usually do to start talking with someone. She answered saying that she did but that they weren't religious. I asked her if it was because there were too many churches or something and she replied that they just hadn't picked a church yet. I was very happy because I've been pretty much hoping to hear that my whole mission. So I basically taught her the Restoration really fast and even though she said she was really busy she still gave us her number and her husband's name and we said we would call her in the future. So we are really hoping that we will be able to meet with them. We met with a less-active that said she wants to come back after years of inactivity because she hasn't been felt like the same person since she left. Another lady is the wife of a member that we looked up and she at first wouldn't let us set a day or time to come back but by the end of the program she asked us when we could come back and we are going to meet with her and one of her sons.
So there were some cool things. We also had zone training with a Thanksgiving dinner afterwards. We were in charge of making a fruit salad. It turned out pretty good. The training was alright but what was a lot better (call me a bad missionary) was seeing a bunch of my old companions at once. I guess one of the blessings of getting new companions every 4-5 weeks is that I have been able to serve with some really wonderful friends.

Hermana Naegle: Make that sound! Worms.... babies....

These past few weeks have been weeks of searching and searching and searching! WE've been working a lot with our Ward lists trying to find all the ''unknown'' people. I know that sounds weird but I cannot think of how else to translate that to english. But it turns out that they either don't want anything to do with the church, they want money, or they don't exist. But we're hoping to finish off the lists soon and that we'll be able to find some part member families.

We have a new investigator his name is Josua. He's cool. The sisters have tried to teach him before but he never had time. Fortunately or unfortunately how ever you want to see it, he fell and busted his foot so now he can't walk or go anywhere and has plenty of time to listen to us. he's the friend of the familia Placencia and they're going to help us out with him. he's catholic but he's never really gone to church before.

Well nothing much has happened. But I would like to comment that Sister Warburton and I are really funny. We laugh all the time. The other night we had finished praying and the lights were all out and we were tucked in bed and chatting a little bit about babies and about how they eat and then poop two seonds later because they're so small and sister Warburton said ''yeah just like worms!'' it was soooo funny, we then spent the next half hour laughing about babies and worms and how it would be really funny to dress up as worms for Halloween.

Also I have an english dictionary thats really funny. and I would like to write a few of the definitions that it has for several words:

Moo: 1. the sound that a cow makes 2. Make that sound!

Snuffle: sniffle

Moustache: Mostache

Moan: a low sad sound

Moth Ball: Ball of moth....

Anyways we were laughing really hard. I've never read a dictionary that could explain to me sooo well what a Word means.  

Well I love you all! I miss you but I'll see most of you in about 6 months. weird. I'm not sure if I want to come home. Maybe I'll just live in Mexico forever and be an eternal missionary!

Naegle Nover: The Christmas Tree Is Up!

They put up a huge Christmas tree in the town square and today we saw them putting lights on it. It's going to be beautiful!

We had a few programs this past week. One was a girl that I am pretty sure is possessed..just kept staring straight ahead as she talked with us about her interesting theories. We're meeting with here again though...Another was a girl who met with us pretty much just to tell us that she used to meet with the missionaries in the past just to learn English and set up with us again because she was curious but she doesn't want to meet anymore. Sad. And lame.
One day we prayed really hard to know who to visit off the member list and we had some success!! We set up with one lady to come back, another guy wasn't in town but we were able to introduce ourselves and give a card to the family that was living in his apartment, and at the last place we were able to talk with the non-member wife who said we could come back sometime. I am super excited about that.

Something I forgot to tell you about last week was that on Halloween, which is the day of the dead here, we went to see a graveyard in the evening as it got dark. There were masses of people there because everyone goes to put flowers on their relatives' graves and light candles. So everywhere you look in the dark there are lights glowing. It was beautiful. The member that took us (Heni-she's so great and going on a mission soon) had some extra tea candles so she let me light some for a grave that didn't have any. It was fun. We were hoping to talk to people about the Plan of Salvation but it ended up being too dark. We did pass out a bunch of pass-along cards about death though.

So, hopefully there will be a ton of really cool things to tell you this next week. Yesterday night we ran into a lady we had tracted into before on the street and she told us that one of her sons is not a believer (she is very religious, very nice). Although she wouldn't give us his name or address, she did tell us the street where he lives so we are going to go tracting there and try to find him and help him believe. I can't wait to see the look on her face when we meet again...at her son's baptism. Haha! Anyway, hope you are all having a great week. Take care and God Bless!!

Naegle Nover: nothing too exciting

This will be a short one. Nothing very exciting happened. Just finding, finding, finding. Actually we didn't really find that many people so it was more like looking, looking, looking. However, we did get a few phone numbers and a guy said we could come back later since he didn't have time then. A very mean man made us leave one of the buildings we tracked. Other than that I don't remember anything. Oh, church was good. The branch seems cool. I don't really like this city itself very much. Yesterday we went streeting at night for a couple of hours and when I got back my hair smelled so bad like cigarette smoke just from walking on the street that I had to wash it before I could sleep. It's been so foggy that we can look directly into the sun sometimes. I actually mistook it for the moon once because it was just a perfectly round reddish sphere.

One funny story is that we were tracting, knocked on a door and a guy yelled, "Who's there?" And we said "We're missionaries!" And he yelled back "I'm sorry". The translation for the word he used can be taken as both, "I'm sorry you are missionaries (I pity you)" and "I'm sorry I can't come to the door (I regret that I cannot answer)". It's not actually something people normally say so it was pretty funny.

Hermana Naegle: hambre.. no de pan sólo de agua.... (famine... not of bread but of wáter)

This week we had no running wáter in our house. In fact we had no running water in about half our área which resulted in that our investigators all went  to go live with relatives. So we ending up walking a lot looking for new people to teach. And I mean ALOT so much that I now have a constant twitch it my left calf muscle that I'm scared is going to turn into a charlie horse one of these nights or worse in the middle of a lesson!

BUT the wáter returned saturday night and we're hoping that our investigators return to us!

Alexis didn't come to church :( some excuse about her brother... but we'll see her this week and we'll get her to come this next sunday!

We had a surprise new investigator his name is Monolo Flores. He was a Street contact earlier in the week and we thought he was drunk when we met him but he showed up to church and it turns out he's just really weird and wasn't drunk at all.... he stayed for 2.5 hours of church but he had to get bck home to make dinner for his mom (he's a bout 60 years old and takes care of his mom who's probably about 100) We have an appointment with him at 6 today and we'll see how it goes.

I also taught góspel principles yesterday in sunday school. The Ward misión leader told us he wasn't going to be there and I was the one who all the other missionaries volunteered to teach the class, but then the WML showed up and every time anyone asked a question he answered and so I pretty much didn't teach anything..... thats OK becasue I was rather nervous.

Well thats the news for this week... we have another new investigator named Paz (which is peace in english) she's interesting she believes all churches are true but that the catholic church is the truest even though there are things she doesn't like about it.... she's nice and we're going to come by next sunday but she told us that she won't pray to know if the book of mormon is true so we'll see if this goes anywhere.

Well thank you all for your prayers. I have really needed them this week. I can feel your love for me all the way out here in the middle of Guadalajara! I know that this church is true I have a strong testimony of th Gospel of Jesús Christ and that it changes lives. I may not have had many ''converts'' in my misión but I have seen the difference the góspel has made in my life and in my family and I hope that you all can come to know for yourselves. The best way to learn the truth of something is to live it. you don't know the cake is delicious until you've tried a bit. you don't know the góspel is good until you have lived it and experienced the blessings in your life.

 I love you all so much! keep praying! Keep Reading the scriptures! keep paying your tithing and attending church!

Naegle Nover: Depths of Despair Oct. 27th

Okay not really, but almost. I got a call this morning telling me that I would be transferred. I thought for sure this transfer wouldn't affect me a) because everyone told me that it wouldn't b) because it's not even really a real transfer, just one sister is going home . But that's okay. I am really sad and I have only heard bad things about the place I am going but I figure that this gospel that I try to tell people about every day of my life is true and if it is then Heavenly Father knows what is happening and has a plan for me and all the missionaries.

Just a quick recap on the past week is that I had a great birthday eating out with some great church members and one investigator that actually invited all of us to go to the hotel where he is a pastry chef and we all got to choose a dessert on the house. It was fun.

On my birthday we met with this family of a man, woman (not married) and their four daughters. We had run into him a while back and he recognized us and wanted to meet with us. They had met with the missionaries in the past and said they had prayed about the Book of Mormon and knew it was true and wanted to be baptized. Which is great, but it was a little too easy and felt weird and they had no questions  when we taught, neither that time nor the second time when we went back on Saturday. They said they would be at church but then long story short they did not come and I doubt they will be getting baptized anytime soon. I think if anything they were hoping to get money or something.

We had another lady who we were super excited about last week but then she showed up this week and said many rude things to us and blamed us as Americans for not helping Hungary during the world war, and also railed about all the doctrine she disagreed with, which is actually doctrine she just doesn't understand because she never listens when we try to teach. Something weird happened to her during the week to make her so different but she wouldn't say what it was. She did break down a little bit after and apologized.

We have a super cool new investigator named Bogi who said she hopes the Book of Mormon is true and that she can't believe how happy everyone is that she's met at the activities and how happy she feels when she meets with us or comes to activities.

Ben said that when he reads he feels a good feeling and an urge to learn more. However, he didn't come to church.
Szilárd said he would pray about a baptismal date. He's doing well.

Well, I have to run, I got a lot of really great emails from many of you and I am so grateful for those. They really helped pick me up when I was feeling kind of down about the transfer. This was the first time I have cried about a transfer so I am kind of bummed but I know it will be okay in Nyiregyháza where I am going.

Hermana Naegle: Cambios especiales!

hola a todos!

como están? Yo estoy muy bien y feliz pero..........

 We are no longer in a trio! :( its way sad because we were getting along like the best of friends! The crazy part is that now sister Warburton and I are going to be together and we are both from the united states.... this will be interesting..... I'm pretty sure that we are the first two American sisters to be together in the entire misión. We'll see how this goes and in three weeks we'll see if President Wagner leaves us together or splits us up....

This week was good. Karen sisn't come to church because her mom had surgery. Its going to be interesting teaching them because its rather obvious that her husband is a interested but not in the góspel.... more interested in blond hair and green eyes, its a weird situation. What we had decided to do was just always go on divisions and send sister martinez but she is getting sent to Puerto Vallarta tomorrow so we won't be able to do that..... We're going to see if we can find a time when only Karen is there or we'll have to hand them over to the elders.

 We taught an old man named Alberto. He anti-american. it was kind of frustrating because he went off about how the book of mormon was published in the United states. Thebest part is that we were in splits and the two americans went to go teach him (that wasn't Smart on our part.. although in our defense we didn't know before hand that he was racist)  luckliy Sister Gil from the Ward and her daughter went with us and she was able to explain it to him and he was confunded (sister Gil is a return missionary and is awesome, her voice is really calming but strong and Smart! she's cool).

Alexis de la Luna came to church! for the second time, the first time was about three months ago before I got to this área but she called us up about to weeks ago wanting to learn more and we've been able to teach her two times a week and she came to church! The Ward members here are really good about reaching out to investigators and were all so happy to see her again and they remmbered her name, I think she was flattered and felt really welcomed. So hopefull she'll keep coming. We set a baptismal date for 29th of novemeber.

Well today sister Perales (one of our less active members we are teaching who is about to become ACTIVE!) taught us how to make chiles enogadas which are similar to chiles rellenos but they're kind of sweet and they are sooooooo good! Oh mah goodness I have never eaten anything so delicious in my entire life! tomorrow we going to eat tortas ahogadas! its the food typical of Jalisco where I have bene living for almost a year and I have not yet tried them tomorrow will be the first time ever in my life.. I'll let you know if I like them (I think I will...). I'm making a list (in my head) of all the food I'm going to learn how to make when I get back home, I need to learn how to make corn tortillas because I don't think I'll be able to eat anything with out tortillas.

Hermana Naegle: Carlos, boiler, eyelashes, labios Oct. 21st

Hola! Una disculpa por no escribirles ayer!

Lo que pasó es que fuimos al templo y entonces cambiaron nuestro día de preparación para hoy!

Ok so let me explain the subject line

1, Carlos: we contacted him I think tuesday and then we went to search him out on friday but he couldn't find him... the worst part is that there are like a million people with the name Carlos in Mexico and he didn't give us his last name so we were wandering around knocking on doors asking people ''does carlos live here?´´ in many houses carlos did live there just not the carlos we were looking for.... then saturday the next day we ran into him like five times! except that he was super drugged up and drunk so we decided to ignore him and I don't think we'll be searching for carlos anytime soon.

2.boiler and eyelashes: sister warburton tried to teach me how to light our boiler but a ton of gas escaped and when she lit the lighter a ton of fire came out in my face and burnt off my eyelashes, a little bit of my left eyebrow and a good bit of my hair... SO I got a nerw hair cut and I now have BANGS! they're actaully cute..... I think I'll keep them even when my hair grows back in..... but it was probably the scariest momento of my life when I saw this huge flame coming at me. luckily I was able to cover my face with my hands so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now we doen't even go near the boiler and we heat up wáter in the microwave and shower out of a bucket.... I've gotten used to showering out of a bucket since I've done it pretty much since I got here.

3. labios: this Word means lips and there is a cute Little girl in our Ward who when she tries to say diablo says labios, sister warburton told her to call me a devil but she instead called me a lips! it was cute. her dad also make leather scripture cases I'm going to have him make me one for my english scriptures there're really pretty.

Well we had a good week, We found 12 new investigators although several of them I don't think will follow through (like Carlos.....) but we were able to put some really great baptismal dates, one of them is named Aida she accepted a book of mormon promised us that she would read it, told us that she believed in the first visionbut that she'll pray and then accepted a baptismal date. she has anadorable baby who loks like Flyn from Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.

Karen is on of ournew investigators and we only taught her àrt of lesson 1 and she came to church! the rough part with her is that she doesn't actually believe in God... but she wants her family to have a religion. her husband, cristofer is awesome too but he talks a ton and it takes a long time to get through the lessons. he wasn't able to come to church because he was working but I think he'll come the next time. they have two really cute Little girls with super curly hair! like their mom.

Well those are the highlights. I tripped a lot this week but I haven't fallen yet! I have had to use sunglasses because the sun hurts my eyes because I have no eyelashes and I feel so worldy.....

Naegle Nover: highlights Oct. 20th

Well I have just been enjoying myself reading and writing other emails, so this one will be one of highlights.

1. Szilárd, who used to be impossible to teach, switched from the English teaching portion of the lesson to the gospel portion all by himself, without us having to change it. Then he showed up when they were having institute and stayed the whole time. Apparently he liked it because he showed up early to our next lesson asking if he could look at a copy of the Doctrine and Covenants, and then during our lesson, right after we said amen to the opening prayer, he asked us what repentance is and how it works. We were more than happy to teach him that as well as the rest of the entire Plan of Salvation. Then he came that weekend to institute, a dinner, and a fireside all in a row. Then he came to sacrament meeting the next day. Although that may be because we guilted him into it by telling him that we were singing for the primary program and that it was his only chance to see it.

2. We had the thought to call Erika, who we thought we may never meet with again, and she wanted to meet with us. We had a good program and she not only agreed to set a baptismal date goal, but also prayed that both she and her husband could be Mormon.

3. I got my birthday package!! Thank you family and Grandma and Grandpa!! And Steels for getting it from Budapest for me.  It was wonderful.

4. Two new way cool investigators. One is a mom who has a husband and three kids. The other is a 15 year old who told us that she is just confused by the whole religion thing and doesn't know what to believe about God. So we are teaching her the Plan of Salvation. So fun!

5. Some brethren came to visit Debrecen this weekend and so everyone put in a lot of effort to get people who are inactive to come. There was a fireside on Saturday, and the Primary program was on Sunday. A lot of people came and it was really cool. Both Elder Hawks, and the other man (I don't know his name) did an amazing job of teaching us and reaching out to the members.
After the fireside I had the really amazing opportunity to translate while the one brother met with a man who is a return-missionary but went inactive. The spirit was so strong and I could feel how much this brother from Romania loved this man who we need so much in the branch, and I could feel a little bit of the sorrow of the inactive man. It will be hard for him to come back but he can! All of us can come back. That is what is so amazing about the Atonement. We can all become better. and by trying to become better, we can be happy.
The Primary program was great and it was a wonderful Sunday. We ate lunch at the Steels' after and we had a wonderful time talking with Elder Hawks, who even offered to take letters to our families in Utah which is a big sacrifice because he is a busy and we live far away from him. Sister Steel made a gorgeous cake and I got to blow out a candle and it was so nice to be there with so many wonderful people.

I found out that one of the elders from my MTC group had to go home because of an injury and I was sooo sad. It made me realize what a blessing it is to be able to serve a full-time mission and for the first time I had a nightmare that I had gone home and I was really sad. Sariah is already home and I can't believe it! I am so grateful for my mission and especially that I get to serve here in Debrecen with my awesome companion. I am so blessed. I love the gospel and I know it's true. I get to turn 21 in Hungary as a missionary! Woohoo! Wouldn't have it any other way. Have a great week and God bless!

Hermana Naegle: Cambios! New Area! Independencia 1!

Hello to all! Well we just had transfers and I am now in my new área. Independencia 1!  I was really sad to leave Valdepeñas but I'm excited to move on and see some new things and have some new experiences. The crazy thing is that I'm in a trio! with sister Warburton and sister Martínez! sister warburton is one of my best friends! she was in the MTC with me, I don't know if you remember that my MTC district was all sisters? and that it was the best district in the world? well yeah I get to be with sister Warburton! for at least 6 weeks. I'm also excited to get to know sister Martínez she seems really nice! we're going to have to be really careful about only speaking in spanish.......

Well theres not much to report except that I broke into tears when I left Valdepeñas. I'm definitely leaving a huge part of my heart there but I'm looking forward to the rest of my misión and I know that it will be wonderful and what God has planned for me!

I have a great testimony that God Works in mysterious ways. That He loves us so much and the He really wants the best for us. He is willing to comfort us in times of need and to help us always make the right decisions.

I love you all! there are great things in the future if we always put our trust in God!

Naegle Nover: This Week

This week was a great week. I don't have much time to go into all the details, but I am just really loving serving here. I love the members and our investigators and I love the work.

One really sad thing happened. We finally were able to meet with one of our investigators who has been out of town for work. He has had a baptismal date planned for a while now and when we met with him we got his interview all set up and everything. Then, on the day we were supposed to meet to fill out his baptismal record, he called and canceled saying basically that he was too overwhelmed with work right now and that he wanted to meet in a month. I asked him if we could meet during the next week and he promised he would call. It was probably one of the saddest experiences of my whole mission. He is ready but he is scared! I don't know how to help him. But it's alright because I have talked to him since then about some other things and I feel like we will be able to meet again but he is missing out on the blessings of baptism in the meantime.

Mariana came to church, miracle of miracles! We are good friends and I was worried about making her mad by pushing her to come to church but then I realized how totally silly that was. When you have a good friend that you really love, you invite them to church because you know it will bless them! I would never hesitate to refer someone to a good mascara, for goodness' sake! So I called her and invited her to church and pushed her to come. And she came for the second half! It's hard sometimes asking people to rely on faith and leave their comfort zones, but it is really amazing when they actually do.

So many funny things happened this week, including one program where my companion was explaining that she used to make french fries at her job, and the investigator thought she said franchise and he thought we didn't understand so he tried to explain what a franchise was by using examples like McDonald's and Burger King, both of which, of course, serve french fries and all three of us just got more and more confused (because we thought he was saying french fries (he has a thick accent)). I died of laughter. One of our investigators came to a YSA activity (success!) and apparently asked one of our recent converts out on a date in front of everyone (success?) and then she turned him down in front of everyone (failure) which may sound harsh but it sounds like the way he asked put her in kind of a bad spot...oh the drama it caused! We may have to do some damage repair with him.

Hermana Naegle: General Conference!

This week was rough! but luckily it included general conference. since I'm pretty sure most of you watched general conference I'll just comment that it was superb and I loved it.. Mom because I know you'll ask I watched it in spanish and english.... women's session in spanish, saturday and first session of sunday in english and the last session in spanish.

well this week we were able to teach english in the park! it went well although no one showed up until about 8 o'clock. several people from the park stopped by and told us that they're planning on coming the next week. So the plan now is to get a good enough following so that we can change over to the church building where they can feel the Spirit! poco a poco! pero hay vamos, hay vamos! 

Unfortunately although we invited three of our most promising investigators not a single one came to conference.. rather disappointing but the good news is that Hna. Margarita came! and she told us that she really likes how she feels when we come by her house to talk with her. She ADORES my companion its really funny because she always compliments her and then says '' and you too hermana Naegle.'' it so funny.. I think you just need to know her to understand, she's a funny a lady, but I adore her and thats all that matters :) 

My favorite investigator is Amalia. she's nuts! and talks a ton but we were actually able to finish lesson 2 in only two visits instead of the five it took to teach lesson 1.. and lesson two is super long and it has a ton of doctrine thats really really different than what the catholic church teaches. Thats progress! 

Benito is our other investigator.. we don't now where he lives but he shows up to church a lot so we teach him when we can...... Pray that he comes to church this Sunday! so that we can find out where he lives! so we can meet his wife and teach her too! 

anyways I love you all! today we went inside of a catholic cathedral. we entered in the middle of mass so we left really quickly.... I can't send pictures because I lost the cord to my camera but I have them and when I get a new cord I'll send you some!

Naegle Nover: Double Conference Power!!!!

This week was a little different than most because we had zone conference as well as General Conference. Zone Conference was good. I always love going into Budapest. The training was good, nothing out of the ordinary.

General Conference was wonderful. We actually got to watch a couple of the sessions in English, which was nice. Three of our investigators came which I was happy about but I was pretty sad because a couple of my favorite investigators didn't show up, even after I called them. From what we watched in English (unfortunately I still don't quite get that much out of the Hungarian broadcast) my favorite was what Elder Uchtdorf's said about building a testimony over a lifetime and that there is no requirement for how big your testimony needs to be in order to take part in the church. I wish I could just get everyone to listen to that talk with an open heart. It was so good!

If you want to pray for some people here are some people that could really use some prayer. Ben, Lehel, Szilvi, Erika, Demi, Árpád, Lilla, and of course, Laci (from my first area).

Árpád is a member who actually served a mission but then after he married a non-member started going inactive because her family business required him to work on Sunday a lot. We had some contact with him over phone but this week when we went with the Steels to drop off a Liahona at his house, his wife came out and told us that it was a miracle we even found anybody home because they work so much. She was only home because she got some cleaner in her eye and it made her sick so she stayed home. She was super chatty and friendly with us and said that although she doesn't feel any need for her to be converted, she could tell that her husband has gotten a little spiritually worn down, and that she thought it would be good for him to go to Conference that night. She even called him to remind him to go and he did end up coming so we were able to meet him. The wife told me that I could call him anytime and I was totally floored because I have never met a non-member spouse who was so supportive of some sort of reactivation. Usually they are really against the church. They have a son and it would be so amazing for them to all get active but I think the working on Sunday thing will be a huge challenge and I don't even know where to begin to try to help them. So please pray for them.

Lilla is a recent convert whose husband is supportive of her but not really of her religion. She is so amazing but it has been really challenging for them and I worry about her.

Szilvi is a recent convert who has been having some real struggles with a lot of things ever since she decided to go on a mission. I am really worried about her right now.

Lehel is an investigator who has had a lot of baptismal dates and keeps pushing them back. He is ready and loves the gospel but is just afraid for some reason. He needs a lot of prayers right now too.

Erika is a lady that loves the gospel but just can't get herself to church because she always gets sick. She needs to come to church!

Ben is one of my favorite investigators ever. He just started college and is super busy right now but he is at a crucial point with the gospel and needs an extra push from some angels or something to help him realize how important it is to learn about the gospel, even when he has a lot of exams. Funny story, we email at the university and we actually saw him outside studying on a bench so we waved at him and he came in and chatted for a bit and read our emails over our shoulders. He is really smart, a little eccentric, and looks a bit like Harry Potter.

Laci, if you remember is from Kispest and I heard that he finished the Book of Mormon and is still meeting with the missionaries but still doesn't really believe the Joseph Smith story. He has been having some surgeries lately I think so he could use some prayers for health physically as well as spiritually.
Demi is the funniest Chinese kid you'll ever meet and he joined the church not too long ago and is thinking of a mission but it is hard for him here because he doesn't speak English all that well and he struggles to come to church for the whole 3 hours. Even though we translate for him it is really boring for him. He's a little bit of a spaz so reading and praying every day are hard for him too. He is thinking about going on a mission though and that would be a big sacrifice because his parents back in China would not be too happy.
I could go on and on about all these people and plenty more but I don't have too much time so I will just finish by saying I feel so grateful to get to know so many different people. I get overwhelmed by all the needs they have and how much they are each going through in their individual lives. The good news is that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know them and can help them with everything even though I can only help them with a few things.

I hope you all are experiencing many blessings in your lives and that you all enjoyed General Conference. It is a privilege to be able to listen to the prophets and apostles of the Lord. I love you all so much and pray for you always.

Hermana Naegle: ´´Jesus Christ the Father and God the son´´

Let me explain the subject line, in church yesterday a cute little kid bore his testimony of ´´Jesucristo el Padre y Dios el Hijo´´, it was pretty funny :) 

I am very glad to say that this week was much better!

I'm going to start out talking about the Lepe de Dios family. a sad turn of events..... the mom didn't want to come up and listen she stayed outside to talk with the neighbors. We're working in an area that is super super catolica. There are two really big catholic churches in our teeny tiny area and about 90% of the people here are catholic. And when people start to listen to us the neighbors start to talk them out of it. Its really offensive for the catholic to have people leave their religion here. Because its SO traditional and its the ''essence'' of the families identity here. I've heard a lot of stories how people were disowned by their parents when they joined the church because their parents were so offended. 

We started teaching english this week. Tuesday we taught in the park and several people showed up.. mostly members.. Ok they were all members until about half way through a passerby decided to jump in and listen. Then saturday when we went to the church NO one showed up. So we went home, I think we'll stick to just teaching those tuesdays in the park until we get enough people. I was bummed because I really wanted to teach it in the church so that they would know HOW to get to the church and feel the Spirit. 

I talked to Sister Snow this week about our mission. for those of you who don't know Jalisco is a super hard state. And the church really suffers here. Its a little weird because the members of the same ward don't know each other so theres not a lot of inward support and it results in a lot of inactivity. They also have a hard time with ward activities. Let me just say i have a great testimony of ward activities! and magnifying callings such as Visiting teacher and Home teacher. They are so important because its through these callings that ward members get to know each other, learn to love each other and help and support one another. I am so grateful that my ward is so great! My home teachers always come, my mom's visiting teacher always visit her. Its so great to live in a place where people are  trying to live the gospel and help one another. These callings are so important. We all need friends but mostly we need good righteous friends who can support us and share messages of love. 

Anyways we talked about how we've had to change our perspective of our mission and our purpose here. how even though we haven't seen as much success as we thought we've been blessed in many other ways and that all things are in the Lord's hands and that He is pleased with our work and that we're doing something really good, and that we could be doing a lot worse than we are. Lets just say I LOVE MY MISSION! its hard, very hard, sometimes I feel so enclosed in my teeny tiny baby area and that I've talked to EVERYONE who lives here that I get a little bit down but I'm so happy to be here. I'm learning so much and I have met some amazing people! and seen and heard things that have changed my life perspective. I dreamed the other night that I finished my mission and was at home and I got so sad! I was happy to be with my family but I missed my mission SO MUCH that I woke up and was so relieved to still be in Mexico! 

Part of my sadness was that I really wanted to eat mexican food in my dream and I couldn't! I'm really going to miss the food here. here they eat every meal with tortillas or bread and everything is spicy! I love it! I'm not going to know how to eat when I get back. I have a hard time eating things without salsa.... also I now put catsup on my pizza... yes it sounds really gross but its super common here and its actually pretty good i recommend it.

Naegle Nover: Downsized in Debrecen

Sooo.....transfers were this past week. I love my new companion and we are getting along great. It's been a really busy week but honestly nothing too exciting. It seemed like everyone was out of town on Sunday so none of our regular investigators came to church and I was pretty sad about it because the one who was actually in town had promised so fervently that she would try and then she didn't show up. Konrad is going to Germany this week and I am going to call him when he gets back and see if he still wants to meet. He is truly one of the most difficult investigators I have ever worked with because he just doesn't assimilate information or something. On a good note, I finally brought up baptism with an investigator named Mariana that I've been working with since I got here and it went over pretty well. She said she would come to Conference and I am really excited. She meets with us to learn English and she really loves us but she is difficult to teach because there have been times when we've asked her really direct questions and she will just change the subject like she didn't hear. I was thinking maybe we would need to stop meeting with her but our last lesson was really good and I am glad that she can start really progressing now.
Our other investigators are either out of town or just really new and so there is nothing too interesting to say about them. No one progresses as quickly as I would like them to but that's okay.

We went to Hortobágy again today so the new missionaries in Debrecen could buy whips. We visited a pretty cool museum there and saw a bird hospital as well. It was fun and nice to be out in the country for a bit.

Debrecen is still the best. I love being a missionary. I cannot WAIT for Conference this weekend. Conference is the most amazing gift and opportunity for everyone to hear a living prophet. God speaks today and we can watch it on TV. That is the beauty of the Latter Days. Hope you are all doing well and taking care.
