Hungary: So this is a mission

This week has been really, really good. Not because we got a ton of investigators or because we got to teach a lot of lessons or because everything went perfectly. In reality, none of those things happened. We really have only one or two investigators, we taught only a few lessons, and spent hours and hours finding, and we got lost a bunch of times because neither of us knows where anything is. So, the reason it was still a good week was because pretty much because of my new companion and the way we tried to do missionary work this week.
Sister Curtin really values obedience so I have been trying to be more obedient. We are on schedule, and we try to do things right. We're not perfect, but we do our best. I have never been so happy on my mission or felt so much hope. She is not afraid to do hard things and that gives me courage to do things like SYL three times a week and use my studies really well. I was worried about the change in companions, but it has given me a new motivation and hope that I really needed. I feel like now I am finally being the missionary that I always wanted to be. It's definitely hard sometimes. I feel overwhelmed by how much I have to learn and how many things I cannot do yet. But I have been trying really hard to have faith that the little things do make a difference, like speaking the language and trying to study vocab while we travel, or speaking to people when they open the door. Sometimes I forget what I was going to say and it's very embarrassing, but I am not going to give up. Speaking the language here is the hardest thing I have ever done. I want to be able to speak quickly and adeptly, and it's just a hard language that I probably won't learn completely even while I'm here. But--even though it can be hard to see any progress in the moment, I have come a long way since I arrived.
A few days ago, we were talking to two ladies who were super chatty and I realized that one of them wanted to set up to meet with us but the other one was dominating my companion's attention. I kind of panicked but then I just went ahead and asked her if she wanted to meet and she said yes and I set up a time with her and had a conversation with her all by myself!! It was such a cool moment for me. Another time I had a little conversation with a girl on the villamos and I wasn't even afraid. That was another cool moment. I can speak a little bit to the members that I love, and I am starting to feel a lot more hope for what I will be able to do in the future.
One day this week we tracted in the rain for almost 5 hours. It was cold and nobody let us in during that whole time. We came to what we decided would be the last door before we headed home for the night. A young man answered the door and, much to our surprise, actually let us in. We almost didn't even want to go in at that point, because we were so tired! But we did and it ended up being really pleasant and he said we could meet again. So the moral of the story is that all the "last door" missionary stories that you hear are actually true, and I got to be part of one!
My companion and I both have a feeling that the next few weeks that we are together are going to be really hard, but I am not afraid. I learned this week that you can still be really happy even when things are very tough. That is one of the coolest things I have ever felt. For the first time during my mission, almost every journal entry in a row started out with something like "This day was great!" even though nothing super amazing happened.
I have a testimony that Heavenly Father blesses us when we try to do our best. The fact that people even get baptized here is a huge miracle. None of the missionaries speak completely fluently, our pass-along-cards are out-of-date and ugly, and the wards are small and the members have to sacrifice a lot to stay active. But they do it because the things we believe are true. People get baptized because they feel something and it gives them the strength to live the law of chastity or quite smoking or stop working on Sunday or whatever it is that holds them back. That is really, really cool to see. Thank you for your prayers and letters and support. I need it all and I pray for you in return. Until next week!

Naegle Nover: cats, hairy chests, and a baptismal date!

So the biggest news of the week just happened this morning when we received a VERY unexpected phone call from the mission president saying that my companion will be leaving to serve as a Sister Training Leader in Buda, and I will be staying in Kispest but with Sister Curtin as my new trainer. I am kind of in shock and sad to have Sister Broadhead leave, but I have met Sister Curtin a couple of times and I really like her, so I'm glad. It will be an adjustment, of course, but I think she will really be able to help me and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together over the next several weeks.
Other than that this week has been kind of challenging, with some super great moments.
There was one day when we had a ton of tracting, and we met all these crazy people. One apartment had this couple that we are fairly certain deal drugs, and their cat kept attacking me. The girl would not let us pray, and she seemed super out of it, and finally we just awkwardly left. Then later, we were in another apartment where these three brothers lived all alone. The one who let us in was 15 and really cool and bright, but the older ones super weird. One of them walked in on our lesson with some very short boxers on and a head full of dreadlocks. Rather impressive actually, it must have taken him years to grow those. And the other one looked like he should be in the movie Grease (random side note: I do not,  I repeat do not, like that movie. I wish I had never seen it.) They were just wandering around listening to music in the back while we tried to have a lesson with their brother. We were sitting at the kitchen table, and the boy was sitting between us with his back facing me. My companion was talking to him and I was just trying to keep up with the conversation and meanwhile, this cat jumped up on the table and started attacking me just like the cat earlier. I think it wanted food because it looked completely emaciated. My companion wasn't really paying attention, and the kid couldn't see me, and I didn't want to cause a scene because I didn't want the creepy brothers to come back, so I just kept trying to fight it on my own. My situation was getting a little desperate when the cat got its claws in my coat and I was afraid to rip my coat up but I really didn't want to have the cat upon my person anymore but finally my companion looked up and saw and the kid grabbed the cat and called the dread-lock brother who took the cat from him and promptly drop-kicked it into the other room. I felt a little bad for the cat, but not too bad since it had been so mean to me.
Another day we were teaching a lesson to this really nice old lady who has a crazy son. He's not actually crazy, just very friendly and animated and chatty. He kept interrupting and talking to us and telling us random things. I didn't understand everything, but at one point I can tell he's talking about a cross on his chest so I was thinking maybe he had a tattoo but then I hear him say, "Can I show you?" And before we can say anything, he lifts off his shirt and shows us his splendid beer-belly with two lines of thin chest hair that form a cross. He said he had had it since birth, and he thinks maybe it's a sign. It was so funny. He left but then returned into the room with a Boba-Fett helmet and said, "Do you know what this is?..Star Wars". Also very funny. And it actually turned out to be a good lesson despite all the interruptions. We are going back this week to teach her again.
While we were tracting this week we rang a doorbell and a man came out pretty quickly and started unlocking the gate (some of the ten-stories have gates in front of the doors...kind of like a prison cell) and said, "My wife's a member." It was a very pleasant surprise for us. We visited with them and found out that he is not a member but wants to be and we get to teach him and help him get ready to be baptized. He came to church this weekend and our goal is for him to come to church every sunday and start staying the whole time.
We went on splits with the Sister Training Leaders on Saturday in Pest and it was a very good learning experience for me. I was nervous about it at the beginning but it turned out really well. She asked me to speak during lessons way more than I usually do and I was really grateful for the chance to practice and bear testimony. I have so much to say to people but I don't usually get the chance because I am slow. I had to stretch myself that day to say things that I had never practiced saying, but usually I can get the message across with a little help.
The highlight of the week was yesterday evening when Laci committed to be baptized. We decided to go back to the basics with him and start over with the Restoration and we were going to watch the film but we couldn't get it to work and I think we were both afraid that he would lose focus in the distraction, but it turned out just fine. We had a really amazing discussion about faith and praying to know if the Book of Mormon is true and we both bore testimony about it. The thing is, Laci kind of likes to debate with us about things so we were worried that he would try to logically and scientifically try to say that he would never receive an answer. So my companion said, "Hypothetically, if you were to pray on March 15th and you received a for-certain answer that it was true, would you be baptized on March 16?" (which is the date we had in mind). He hesitated for a second, and we both thought, "Oh boy, here it comes" But all he said was, "Well, the thing is, March 15th is a national holiday." It was so unexpected and he said it so gravely that we both burst out laughing. He didn't really understand why we were laughing and he said, "It's not funny." So we calmed down and focused and he said that if he knew it was true of course he would be baptized. He really wants to receive an answer and I think he actually already has. We asked him to kneel and pray and ask if it was true right then and there and he did and it was such a beautiful prayer. We pointed out to him afterwards that the good feeling he felt was the spirit and he left the lesson seeming more bright and cheery than I have ever seen him. I am so excited for him. I am confident that Heavenly Father has a really amazing plan for him, just as He does for all of us.
I am very grateful Heavenly Father's plan for me included a mission. I am learning so much about the Gospel, myself, and others. Hungary is an amazing place, but I am learning to appreciate the things that I had at home, while trying to enjoy the things that I have now that I won't when I return home.
I hope that you are healthy and happy. Remember to pray and read your scriptures. It's the little things like that that make a big difference. If you feel annoyed hearing me say that, then maybe that's a sign that you should just try it. I've had to learn it the hard way myself many times.
Take care and enjoy the sunshine. It's kind of rare here.
With all my love,
Sister Naegle

Hermana Naegle

Well this week was interesting. We had less menos activos at church yesterday the total was at 9 which is still really good but it was slightly disappointing since in total we have 23 progressing less actives. (although that number's going to go down after next week because they won't be less actives anymore! yay!hopefully they stay active)
It was a little better with investigators we had our three super strong ones attend. Although two of them left after the second hour.
Luis is one of our investigators and apparently he's been lying to us about smoking. We're really bummed and we're going to have to bring it up when we visit him this week and really pound in the importance (with love of course)  of living the palabra de sabiduría.
This week we've done a lot of zone activities. Where we get together in a market with a lot of people and we contact them like crazy and whoever gets the most addresses wins. We one the first one with 10 addresses, and a lady told me she was going to name her granddaughter after me. So for our prize we're going to get a triple! which is a book of mormon with the Doctrine and Covenants and pearl of great price to give to  one of our investigators. We're thinking we'll give it to Luis.
Other than that not much has happened except my companion got knocked out with a soccer ball today when an Elder kicked it in the air. It was super scary because she couldn't remember who Nefi was in the book of mormon for about 20 minutes. But she's good now except that her head hurts and her body from falling on the concrete. Our zone leaders gave her a blessing and I think that it really helped her.
I'm so grateful for the Priesthood.
Speaking of the Priesthood we had a cool experience yesterday. There's a less active family in our ward who we've been visiting and this week they brought up that they wanted a priesthood blessing for their house. They don't attend church because they've only been members for a year and the mom still has doubts about the church. Anyways we had the bishop come and bless the house and we gave a tiny lesson on the priesthood. The spirit was so strong. I'm pretty sure the dad of the family was close to tears. He's super ready and he wants the priesthood but its his wife that's holding them back but I think after that experience she'll be more open to going to church.
Anyways I don't remember much else from this week. Oh actually I do Josimar got his temple recommend!!!! which means he's not smoking anymore! and he's started his papers and is working to get an interview for his patriarchal blessing! He has really come leaps and bounds since we first met him. Its really incredible!!His face just lights up when we talk about his mission and we'er super excited for him.

Well thats all. I love each of you!

Ashlyn: Success with Menos Activos!

So where to start this week..... We have anew investigator, Valeria. She's 12 years old and looks about like a seven year old would in my family. I'm pretty sure Ruthy Gleason is taller than her :) Anyways she's really sweet. her parents are members but are separated (though not legally) and she lives with her mom and her stepdad.  Anyways she's super interested and her baptismal date is the 15 of March! We've only had two lessons with her and the last one we had her say the closing prayer and she prayed for me. it was really sweet although I'm not quite sure what she was asking for because all she said was ''pida por Naegle'' Which the direct translation is ''ask for Naegle''. I'm pretty sure she thought that Naegle was my first name too and it was way funny because she asked me like twenty times before she prayed how to pronounce it so I wrote it our for her on a sticky note like this ''Negli''.

Well yesterday we had 17 less actives attend church! Most importantly the family that had been having their own Santa Cena in their house every week came! yay! we have made so much progress with the less actives in the ward its really been our mission here to work with them.

So about baptisms. Apparently our mission hasn't been doing super well with baptsims lately. Our President had a meeting with the Area 70 and Elder Oaks and they have told us that we need to increase our faith and that if we do we can have a baptism every single week and thats our goal as a mission. Well this starts in March so expect a baptsim from me every single week!

Well our Menos Activo Josimar has started his mission papers!!!! We are so excited for him he has progressed so much and I'm pretty sure he bought a new suit especially for church! He wants to serve a mission so bad and he has a goal to quit smoking by the end of next week.

We have a new invesitgator Luis Munoz. He was an Antiguo Investigator from the Elders before us, who we had met with once before but he was super drunk and so we dropped him. But he came to church two weeks ago and he hadn't had alcohol for two weeks so we've started teaching him again. And he is so different when he's not drunk. His story is really sad and he really wants this gospel and he's super humble. Pray that he's able to resist wine. He gets lonely and its really hard for  him. So pray that he never has the chance to feel lonely. We text him scriptures to help him stay positive.
He also has a friend Katie who's really interested as well but she doesn't live in our area. And we had a rough experience with another investigator who didn't live in our area and we have learned the importance of respecting area boundaries. So God decided to test us with Katie. Well we told her yesterday that we couldn't teach her and we referred her to the sisters in her area. It started off rough because she's gone to her own ward but she says that she doesn't feel the same in her own ward as she does in this ward, and that she likes our ward better. Hna. Leija was talking to her and she really wasn't having it and I was just praying in my head that God would help us because we really need to be obedient and only teach those in our area.  I jumped in the conversation and told her that God is perfect therefore His church is a church of order. Also that this church is a church of authority given from God. I told her that we didn't have the authority to teach her or recieve revelation for her because she's not in our area and that its because God loves us that His church is so organized. I promised her that if she attended her own ward and recieved the lessons from the missionaries in her area that she would feel the same Spirit there as well. Anyways you could really see it click in her mind after that and she agreed to meet with the sister in her own area and we set up an appointment for tomorrow. It was really cool because I could feel the Spirit actually telling me what to say. I love that feeling because you know that you're doing the right thing and you can just drop all you fears and talk.

In total we had 17 menos activos and 5 investigators attend church!

Well thank you all for your prayers and your love! and most importantly for your Faith! which is the key to everything in this work.
Les amo,
Hermana Naegle

We also have some interesting last names in our ward: Paniagau which is bread and water or La Santa Cena (apostasia!)   Lechuga or Lettuce  and Cuyo or throat, as in your neck.

1. Paniagua - This sign is everywhere and I've taken it as a reminder that the church is true. chistes.
2. My feet puff up a little by the end of the day and I have some sweet tan lines!
3. This family has 11 cats. I was covered in hair after we left. ew.

Katelyn: Here in Hungary

So the good news is...we have a ton of new investigators. We were so blessed this past week. We met so many people and had a lot of success with finding. It was cool. I wish I could just describe to you person after person that we meet. Some people we talk to are so nice and cool, and some people are genuinely crazy. Okay, a lot of the people we talk to are genuinely crazy (one man told us that aliens took Christ away in a spaceship). But I love it because it makes finding more interesting.
It's weird to me to see the wide range of treatment that we receive. Some people are super, super, super nice to us. They coo over us and talk with us for a long time and even if they don't want to hear our message they wish us good luck with our work and tell us that they hope we marry well. Others will  literally slamb the door in our faces. A lot of people just ignore us, especially on the street. But sometimes we talk with really friendly people. Last night we talked with this old man who has had three wives because they keep dying and they had all practiced different religions. What a life.
I love Sundays because we get to go to church and see the ward members. The culture is a little different here, especially with kids. Kids run all over the place during church. A few weeks ago, three little toddlers were running around and all of a sudden they rushed the podium all at once. So three parents ran up at the same time and grabbed the kids and took them back to their seats, and all the while the speaker just kept on going. It was so funny. Yesterday this little girl was running around and she ran out of the chapel for a bit and then she came back with a huge strip of yellow toilet paper that she held up behind her as she ran like a streamer. I was dying inside. The kids are so cute. Everybody in Hungary bundles up their babies in these puffy little suits to keep them warm and it is adorable!
We got to see a baptism yesterday. It was one of the elders' investigators so we don't know him very well but he seems like a really amazing person and I am so happy for him. After the baptism there were refreshments and it was cool to see how Hungarian refreshments go down. Instead of lining up like we do in the states, they take plates or napkins and everyone hovers in a big group around the table, grabbing treats as they eat and talk. I was super impressed by the care they took with the refreshments to make them look pretty. I sent some pictures of it because I thought everything was so beautiful.
I also sent a picture of a woman named Kríszti. She is a recent convert that we get to teach and I love her so much. She is like a Hungarian version of Aunt Melissa. She is gorgeous, classy, and so kind to me. I love her. We taught her a couple of times this week and I prayed really hard on morning to be able to help her somehow, even though I don't speak very much Hungarian. Before we got into the lesson we had planned, she shared that she was having a problem with understanding if money and success is a good thing or if it is bad and something we shouldn't seek after if we want to be righteous. I was able to understand enough of this to start looking for a scripture that popped into my mind and I found it and shared it with her at the end and she told me that it helped her a lot. It was probably a little thing to her but it was a big thing to me because I felt like it was an answer to my prayer. I have been receiving so many answers to prayers lately. I pray for you all every day and I hope that Heavenly Father is blessing you and that all is well with you.
Much Love,
Naegle nővér
Grandma Gleason- Your DearElder came exactly a week ago so that's how long it takes. Mama J- thank you for the emails. I want to read them in depth before I write back but I don't have much time today so I will probably reply next week. I am looking forward to reading your biography and I will pray for Holly. I know she will do amazingly on the bar. She deserves it.

Hermana Naegle: We had 11 menos actvos and 2 investigators at church!

Well story time: as I mentioned before we've been putting a lot of effort into being obedient. Well Monday ( and I account this as a direct result of our efforts to be more obedient) I was making pan francés (french toast) when there came a knock at the door. Hna. Leija answered and I couldn't see who it was nor could I actually understand what was being said and I was rather focused on not burning the precious toast that I didn't pay much attention. Well when the person left Hna. Leija seemed to be in a strange state of shock. So I asked her what happened and she said that it was a lady who had asked if we could come over and teach her and her family! I mean that doesn't happen everyday when an investigator contacts you!
Well I asked Hna. Leija how the lady knew where we lived because we don't hand out that information, And turns out the lady is our neighbor and the other day when Hna. Leija took out the trash the bag (which she tied super super tight) untied and the garbage fell out everywhere on the sidewalk. While she was cleaning it up the lady walked by and I guess they chatted or said hola or something( I didn't quite understand that part of the story when she told me, perdón). Well we went and taught the lady Saturday. It was a sweet experience! Turns out the lady is actually a menos activo of many years and her information isn't in the ward directory. Her brother lives with her and he's blind, but the sweetest person in the world! and he isn't a member and we taught him and his sister (the Familia L...) and we asked if he wanted a blessing and he did (I have never seen anyone nod with more energy and say yes with more conviction!) So we ran down the street and grabbed our ward mission leader and he came and gave him a blessing. The spirit was so strong! It was so awesome. The only downside is that there is a huge, and I mean HUGE, photo of the Pope in their house and a  grand shrine to the Virgin Mary.

So the work here with Menos Activos is progressing like crazy! we had eleven at church yesterday! we finally got the familia F... to attend church! and Hna. C... came again and Hno. R... again, and Hno. V... came again who is keeping his promises!
Hna. C... is so awesome! when we visited her this week she told us that God has told her her purpose which is to preach his gospel. Well we got really excited about that because finding members to teach with is nearly impossible because of work schedules and I have never seen anyone more giggly and happy ever. She was just a ball of life! which is a huge change from the first time we met her. When we first met her, her grandson and mother had both just recently passed away and she had no hope of ever seeing them again. Well we taught her about eternal families and the temple and its changed her so much! we started teaching her the lessons and she is progressing so much! And is working forward to being able to do temple work for her family. We want to help her put together her family tree as well.

Some dramatic news: Our church was robbed! with broken windows and graffiti and all. They stole all our computers except one and apparently its not the first time. But no one was hurt and its made for dramatic conversation (which they love here haha).

Well I got to spend a whole day with Hna. Warburton! so fun! we did have a dramatic lesson with a menos activo family. It was difficult. I don't want to go into to much detail but the Spirit wasn't there and some other drama, the mom was in tears and the son was horrible and interesting enough when the spirit left I wasn't able to speak Spanish as well. And there was a definite moment when the Spirit left it just kind of whooshed out of the house and left us all al little chilly.

Well we have like 3 investigators but lots and lots of menos activos which has been so fun to see them progress and begin again to keep their covenants with God. There is so much work to do here with less actives. So much. We come a cross a new less active once or twice a week. They just keep popping up! Well we're excited to work with these people and look forward to them making covenants in the Temple which is so important. And we have already made so much progress! I'll be sad to leave this area but I know that I will leave it stronger than it was, which is part of my purpose as a missionary!

With so much love!
Hermana Naegle

1.  Hno. J....l. he's one of our menos activos and the father of L....  he's been keeping his goals which he made himself and has come to church the past two Sundays!
2. . My district: Elder Pacheco, Elder Alexander (district leader), Elder Waite Elder Juarez and Hna. Leija. We had cambios this week and Elder Pacheco and Elder Waite are gone. Elder Waite is now a district leader. Elder Juarez is staying and is now a trainer! We'll meet the new missionary tomorrow during district class and we'll see if he's gringo or Mexicano. Oh turns out that for sisters their mission Padre is their first district leader so Elder Alexander is my Padre and Hna. Leija is my mission Madre since she's my trainer. We're such a happy family:)
3.  us with Hna. L... who is 19 and wants to serve a mission! I love her to death! she accompanies us a lot in our lessons. She's a sweet heart and has been super sick with the flu lately.

Naegle Nover: New Missionary Experiences

Hey there,
This week was awesome. One of our investigators committed to be baptized and it was awesome because when we were planning what we would teach her we both felt really great about extending the commitment and against all odds, she accepted it.  So that was a big first for me as a new missionary. It was funny because she called us to cancel our program and to say she didn't want to meet anymore but then she called back a few minutes later to say that actually, she could meet that day if we had time. Which, of course we had time because otherwise we just find, find, find. :) She is super funny and one of my favorite people to visit. She is like 67 years old and she has a very child-like personality. She has a hard time reading scriptures because they are hard for her to understand or something like that and I think she gets bored with them. So I made her a big calendar with three scriptures a week for her to read and we'll put going to church and praying on there as well. We're going to give it to her this week and hopefully it will help her. I am going to decorate it and make it cute for her because she really likes things like that. Hopefully she will see that reading the scriptures doesn't have to be difficult. I am going to personally call her this week and make sure she prays before she goes to bed. It's going to be scary but that's one of my goals for the week. I actually tried one night this week but she didn't pick up and I was a little relieved because Hungarian is hard enough to understand in person. On the phone....it will be interesting, that's for sure.
The other most awesome thing ever was that L.... came to church. Yes!!! That was also a big first for me. Having an investigator come to church. (Ash-ten investigators at church, really?!! You've got to be kidding me.) Well, actually technically we have one who comes every week but this was the first investigator who we personally found who came to church. I love L.... because we found him during my first few days and I started the door approach when we tracted into him and bore my testimony during that first lesson. He is very curious and a thinker and likes to ask a lot of questions. I don't mind because all of his questions so far have been things that I've already thought about a lot in my life and he speaks really good English so if he asks a question that my companion doesn't know I can explain an answer to him. We asked him to come to church and he said he was afraid of groups but he would think about it. Then we fasted for him to come on Sunday and Sunday morning he called and said he would come and we were like, "Woot!!!" So he came and we sat on either side of him like proud parents until my companion got asked to conduct the music and I was left alone with this investigator and I had no idea what I was doing because have I ever taken an investigator to church before in Hungarian? No! And I try to not speak any English at church because I think it's rude so if he asks me a question then I'm doomed. So then we start the hymn and it is one that I'm not really familiar with in English and I have to struggle to figure out the words in Hungarian and follow the tune at the same time and there's not really anybody sitting near us except for other missionaries' investigators and they're no help of course and L.... didn't open his mouth once so there I am trying to figure out how to sing this hymn in Hungarian with a groggy throat and really high notes and I have no idea what's going on and apparently neither do any of the Hungarians because I was like the only person in the congregation. But we made it through and then I told L... that I was sorry and that I wasn't familiar with that hymn and he said no, no you sing prettily. And then I just felt awkward. But the meeting was good and after he said it was really nice and he liked it and he stayed for the rest of church. So it was a big success and we are so excited to see his progress.
Some interesting experiences of the week included getting yelled at by several people, one of whom yelled at us and then after, when we went to knock on her neighbor's door, she went to all the effort of coming back to the door to yell at us again and tell us not to knock on her neighbor's door because then her neighbor would call her and she didn't want that because she was sick. Nobody in that building let us in and almost everybody told us they were sick. I thought it was funny. But scary when we got yelled at.....
Yesterday we had a man with blood running down his face come ask us for money. Luckily we were tabling with the elders at the time so I didn't feel scared but it was really weird. He had bandages on his neck and and head, but he was really dirty and his wounds were openly bleeding. He asked for money for bread and one of the elders gave him a little money and he left. It was so strange and sad.
Oh, we tracted into this lady who I refer to now as Ursula because she opened her door and it was dark and gloomy inside and she kind of billowed out in smoke. She told us that we should not be in this area because really bad people and criminals lived there and women had been attacked before. My companion told her thanks for warning us and we left but it was super weird and freaky a little bit. But I didn't believe her that much because we met a lot of nice people in the building. I figured if the super nice, classy Catholic man two floors up didn't warn us, then why should we pay attention to the scary woman. But my companion said she always pays attention when people warn her like that because she used to not and then she saw people get attacked. And then later I felt bad for judging that lady and I realized that she was actually a daughter of God just like me and it was nice of her to warn us of danger...
So there you have it. It's been a great week. Some discouraging moments but nothing too bad. On Thursday I felt something click in my brain with Hungarian and after that it's gotten a lot easier to understand people and it's fun to study now because I have faith that it will eventually stay in my head. I can feel myself being blessed all the time. Thank you for your prayers. I think the jet lag is gone and I'm just dealing with normal tiredness these days. I have no trouble sleeping. :) I love you all a lot and I hope that your lives are full of blessings and joy. Take care!
