Well let me explain the subject line. in spanish the word ''esposa'' has two different meanings in english ''wife'' and ''handcuffs''. Also the word ''muñeca'' means ''wrist'' and ''doll'' and the word manzana means ''apple'' and ''square'' as in temple square. So Sister Snow told us the other day that one of her investigators told them of when he was a cop he put handcuffs on a man's wrists and chased him around the square, but he said it in english and used all the wrong translations.
Well my week has been really good. Our goal was to have 10 lessons with members and when we totaled them up yesterday we found out that we had 14! yay! and turns out we've had an investigator attending church for about four or five weeks now and we had no idea! I'd seen him before but I thought he was the investigator of the other sisters in the ward and they thought he was the investigator of the Elders in the ward... so yesterday we found out that he actually lives in our area! so all thats left now is to figure out his name and in which building he lives in and start teaching him it was a tender mercy because I'd been feeling really bad about not having any investigators attending church. Speaking about investigators Teresa didn't come. The past three times that we've tried to find her she hasn't opened her door. we're about 99% sure that she's there and just doesn't want to open up. I have no idea why. everything was going super super well! so we're going to keep trying to find her this week and if nothing happens we'll have to drop her :( .
Today we have two appointments with FAMILIES! I'm super excited to teach the family Lepe de Dios. I feel really good about it. We found them when we went searching for an old investigator who lives in front of them on the fourth floor. We climbed up all the steps and were panting when we reached the top. Their front door was open so we asked them if the investigator lived in the other apartment there and they told us that she did but that she was actually down stairs selling candies. We laughed because we had just climbed like a million stairs and she wasn't even there. We joked around with them for a bit and then we asked them if we could say a prayer and bless their home. I was a little nervous because they have a HUGE image of the Virgin Mary on their wall but they let us in and we talked some more and said a prayer and afterwards I asked if we could come back and share our message with them and they said YES! it was a sweet experience and they are an adorable family :) So we'll see, if they don't accept the message at least we made some good new friends!
what else happened.... Oh yeah! I stopped by a papeleria to buy some four by five cards and my companion contacted the owner of the store. She told us that she didn't want to hear our message but that she was interested in the pictures of christ (one of the pass along cards says that we give away a packet of images of christ for free) she had found the passalong card the other day in her store (we had stopped by like three days before and contacted someone else) and had saved it wanting to ask about the packet. We told her that we would ask for a packet and get it to her but we didn't know how long it would take. Then we asked her if we could pray for her and her negocio. She told us that we could so we taught her about how we pray and then we prayed and after she told us ''you know what you can come and share your message with me. How about next sunday?'' I was stunned! the prayer totally changed her! so cool! Power of Prayer!
Well those are my spiritual experiences for the week! keep praying! it changes lives! Love you!
